Quirky, a start-up company that now fields 4,000 new product ideas a week, will lead an ambitious effort, beginning in July, to accelerate the adoption of smart-home products. What does this mean for e5 Global Innovations?

This news is exciting for us: our premise is to develop devices that retrofit into the existing home, apartment, condo, etc. electrical system by way of plug-in devices.  There is no need for hubs, apps, or special communication protocols.  Ever.  Easy.

But, there is a BUT.  Since our devices are wireless, we will be backward compatible, which means our devices will be able to communicate with these centralized, open-source systems for on/off status – if that is something the user may want.  Otherwise, if you have a needed enhancement, the e5 devices will satisfy all on their own.
